Neil Patterson grew up in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and has been painting since his early childhood. He became the first Canadian to become a signature member of the Oil Painters of America, and also to attain the status of OPA Master Signature Member. He works in an impressionistic alla prima style that utilizes images from his visual memory and a thick application of paint to create paintings that are truly unique interpretations of his world. He has been the recipient of countless awards and honors over his long career, and currently resides in Bragg Creek, outside of Calgary.
